Summary: L-Arginine Hydrochloride 21% Brown is a concentrate for the preparation of an infusion solution. It is used for the treatment of severe metabolic alkalosis and for the reduction of increased ammonia concentrations in the blood due to inborn errors of metabolism. It contains arginine hydrochloride as the active substance. It should be avoided or used with caution in the presence of certain pre-existing conditions. There are no known interactions with other medicines. It may be used during pregnancy and lactation if indicated. Dosing is done by a doctor and the solution is administered intravenously. Possible side effects are disturbances in amino acid metabolism, gastrointestinal complaints and intolerance reactions.
